Question 1

What is Odoo and is it the right ERP for my business?

Accepted Answer

Odoo is a fully integrated, modular suite of business applications covering sales, CRM, inventory, manufacturing, accounting, HR, and more. It fits SMBs through to enterprises because you can start with a few apps and add more as you grow. We typically run a short discovery to confirm fit before recommending an approach.

Question 2

What's the difference between Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise?

Accepted Answer

Community is the open-source edition with a strong feature set; Enterprise adds advanced apps (Studio, advanced accounting, Field Service, Marketing Automation, mobile apps, Odoo.sh hosting) and official support. We help you choose based on requirements, scale, and budget.

Question 3

Should I host Odoo on Odoo.sh, Odoo Online, or self-host?

Accepted Answer

Odoo Online is fastest to start but limits customization. Odoo.sh is the best balance of flexibility and managed infrastructure. Self-hosting gives full control and is ideal when you need on-premise data residency or deep custom modules.

Question 4

How long does an Odoo implementation typically take?

Accepted Answer

A focused implementation (2-4 apps, standard processes) takes 6-10 weeks. Multi-department or multi-company rollouts with customization typically run 3-6 months. We share a clear timeline after discovery.

Question 5

How do you handle data migration from our existing system?

Accepted Answer

We follow a structured pipeline: extract → cleanse → map → import → validate. Whether you're moving from QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, or spreadsheets, we preserve data integrity and run dry-runs before go-live so there are no surprises.

Question 6

Can you migrate us from an older Odoo version to the latest?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We handle version upgrades (e.g., Odoo 14 → 17/18) including custom module refactoring, database migration, and validation. We always take a database snapshot and run on a staging instance first.

Question 7

Will my custom modules survive an upgrade?

Accepted Answer

Custom modules require code-level adaptation when upgrading. We audit your existing customizations, refactor them to align with the new version's API, and apply Odoo best practices to keep future upgrades smoother.

Question 8

What does 'go-live' look like and how do you minimize downtime?

Accepted Answer

We plan a cutover window (often a weekend) with a final data sync, smoke testing, and a rollback plan. Most clients experience a few hours of downtime at most.

Question 9

Can Odoo be customized to my exact process?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Odoo's modular Python framework supports deep customization, new modules, modified workflows, custom reports, automated approvals, and tailored UI. We focus on upgrade-friendly patterns so customizations don't become technical debt.

Question 10

Do you build mobile apps on top of Odoo?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We build PWAs and React Native apps that talk to Odoo via REST/JSON-RPC for field teams, technicians, drivers, and customers.

Question 11

Can you integrate Odoo with our existing tools?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We've integrated Odoo with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, Stripe, PayPal, FedEx/UPS/DHL, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Power BI, Twilio, and many proprietary APIs.

Question 12

What kind of support do you offer after go-live?

Accepted Answer

We offer hourly, monthly retainer, and dedicated-resource models. All plans include issue triage, functional guidance, minor enhancements, and emergency response with defined SLAs.

Question 13

How do you price Odoo projects?

Accepted Answer

We typically scope projects on a fixed-price basis after discovery. Ongoing development and support runs on retainers or T&M depending on volume. There are no hidden fees.

Question 14

Do you provide training for our team?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We run role-based training (admin, sales, finance, warehouse, etc.), record sessions, and provide cheat-sheets so adoption isn't reliant on a single power user.

Question 15

What if I just need an expert for a few hours?

Accepted Answer

We offer Hire-an-Odoo-Developer engagements starting at small blocks of hours, ideal for audits, quick fixes, or augmenting your in-house team.
