How we connected UrbanPiper to Odoo for The Food Crew in the UAE

The Food Crew is a multi-brand food business in the UAE. Like many restaurant groups and cloud kitchens, it runs several brands from shared kitchens and sells through food delivery platforms as well as its own channels. We recently integrated UrbanPiper with their Odoo system, and the integration is now live for 6 brands across 4 locations, with more brands and outlets being added in the coming days.
The challenge
Multi-brand food businesses face the same problem: online orders arrive from several delivery platforms, each with its own tablet and menu, while the point of sale, stock and accounts live somewhere else. Staff re-key orders, menus drift out of sync between platforms, and sales from each channel have to be reconciled by hand. The more brands and outlets you add, the worse it gets.
Why UrbanPiper and Odoo
UrbanPiper connects restaurants with food delivery platforms in one place. Odoo runs the rest of the business: point of sale, recipes, inventory, purchasing and accounting. Connecting the two means online orders are handled in the same system as everything else, instead of on a separate screen.
What we built
- Online orders received through UrbanPiper flow into Odoo automatically, alongside in-store sales.
- Each brand and location in UrbanPiper is mapped to the right company, outlet and stock in Odoo.
- Menus and item availability are managed from Odoo, so changes do not have to be repeated on every platform.
- Order status updates are sent back, so platforms and customers see accurate progress.
Built to scale with new brands
Because brands and outlets are mapped in configuration rather than hard-coded, adding a new brand or location is a setup task, not a development project. That matters for a growing restaurant group: The Food Crew went live with 6 brands across 4 locations, and more are being added as the business expands.
Lessons for restaurant groups
- Clean up menus, modifiers and item codes before integrating; every mismatch shows up as a problem later.
- Decide upfront how brands and outlets map to companies and points of sale in Odoo.
- Test with real order scenarios, including cancellations and sold-out items, before go-live.
- Go live outlet by outlet rather than all at once.
